Birikim Consulting was founded in 1991 by Yıldırım and Gülsevin Gürbüz with the aim of improving organisational effectiveness through the development of people's skills.

Since its establishment, Birikim has designed and delivered development programmes based on the Experiential Learning approach. Through its solutions in teamwork, leadership, communication, problem-solving and organisational development, Birikim helps individuals and organisations unlock their potential.

Through international partnerships, innovative learning methodologies and outdoor training programmes, Birikim has played a pioneering role in the development of Experiential Learning in Türkiye.

1991... The Beginning of Our Journey
Birikim was founded by Yıldırım and Gülsevin Gürbüz on a beautiful day in May, with a clear mission: to improve organisational effectiveness by developing people's skills.

1992... Pioneering Experiential Learning in Türkiye
Birikim was selected to deliver Xerox's "Leadership Through Quality" training programmes and became one of the first organisations to introduce the Experiential Learning approach in Türkiye.

1995... Introducing Ropes Courses to Türkiye
Through our partnership with Challenge Learning, we brought Experiential Learning outdoors by introducing Ropes Course programmes.

1996... Establishing Türkiye's First High Ropes Course
Birikim established Türkiye's first High Ropes Course in the gardens of what was then known as Sapanca Hotel.
Organisations were introduced to a completely new approach to training. Participants who had previously experienced learning only in traditional classroom settings were now taking part in outdoor learning activities.
Tens of thousands of people subsequently participated in training programmes at this facility.

1998... Taking Our Training Programmes to the International Stage
Committed to staying ahead of the curve, Birikim established a partnership with Impact Development Training, the organisation behind the High Impact Training methodology, bringing international expertise and innovative training approaches to Türkiye.

1998... A New High Ropes Course at Abant
Birikim established another High Ropes Course, this time at Abant PetroClub Holiday Village.

2000... Establishing Impact International Türkiye
Birikim became the founding partner of Impact's Türkiye office, delivering High Impact Training development programmes as well as motivational events organised by Eclipse Global Events.

2004... Partnership with Huthwaite International
Birikim began delivering SPIN Selling, one of the world's leading sales skills development programmes, in collaboration with Huthwaite International.

2007... A New High Ropes Course at Büyük Abant Hotel
Another High Ropes Course was established at Büyük Abant Hotel. All Birikim courses were built in accordance with the Redundant Safety System, designed to provide an exceptionally high level of safety.

2008... Introducing Summit and Discovery Programmes
Birikim expanded its portfolio with Summit and Discovery Programmes, designed to inspire individuals and organisations to explore new perspectives, discover their potential and draw inspiration from their surroundings

2009... Partnership with Starthrower
Birikim established a partnership with Starthrower, a company producing films designed to enhance the impact and effectiveness of training programmes.

2010… METALOG Training Tools to Türkiye
METALOG Training Tools Consulting and Trade Ltd. was established. Through a partnership with Germany-based METALOG, innovative experiential learning tools were introduced to the Turkish market.

2011… Partnership with Business Training International (BTI)
Through our collaboration with Germany-based Business Training International (BTI), business simulations designed to develop awareness and skills in finance, sales and project management became an integral part of our corporate training portfolio.

2018… Launching OLİMBERA CLUB
Birikim launched OLİMBERA CLUB, an innovative project developed on a 30,000-square-metre site where medicinal and aromatic plants are also cultivated.
A unique natural environment was created for training programmes, meetings and experiences designed to enhance individual and organisational performance.

2022… Establishing Trainer's Bazaar
Birikim established Trainer's Bazaar International to develop innovative training tools for adult learning.
Our aim is to provide trainers, starting in Türkiye and extending to international markets, with high-value tools that enrich the learning experience and make training programmes more effective.
